The Flying Scotsman Story Exhibition is open at the National Railway Museum and admission is free!

The exhibition illustrates the story of the Flying Scotsman route, service and locomotive.

This exciting exhibition enables visitors to enjoy a variety of accessible experiences aimed at a range of different audiences. Key elements of the exhibition include:

A range of personal narratives centred on the people intimately linked with the route, service and locomotive - including owners, admirers, passengers and crew.

The chance to see an exciting array of objects associated with the narratives being told, some of which have not been on public display before.

A 1930s buffet car illustrating the story of the dining experience for passengers travelling on the Flying Scotsman service over the last 70 years.

A range of specially commissioned audiovisual displays plus the ability to watch historic film footage of Flying Scotsman and aspects of the service from the last 80 years.

Guest appearances by other famous locomotives from the national collection, which were used on the Flying Scotsman service.
