‘The Flying Scotsman’ is the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) segment of Pathways of Perfection made in 1935. The full black and white film presents the four most famous British trains, one for each railway company: the Royal Scot, the Flying Scotsman, the Cornish Riviera and the Golden Arrow.
The film focuses on the routes and the on-board services provided. The London, Midland & Scottish (LMS), the LNER, the Great Western Railway (GWR) and the Souther Railway (SR) compiled together these publicity films into a 17 minute showcase, with the aim of promoting British railways.
